We are all born with our own unique genetic code. We have arms, legs, a heart, two eyes, two kidneys, etc, but all these parts which make up the whole come in their own shapes and sizes. Our finger prints are unique. We all require oxygen, water and food to survive. Our food consists of proteins, fats, carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals. However, the ideal ratio required is unique to each of us, just like our unique finger prints, appearance and behaviours. Are you curious as to why some people feel and perform better eating more protein, while for others, it’s the opposite? The same can be said about other nutrients. How are we supposed know which foods will allow us to feel and perform better, all while keeping us healthy?

What is Metabolic Typing®?

Metabolic Typing® is “a groundbreaking technology that takes the guesswork out of nutritional science. It’s a system you or anyone can use to cut rapidly through the information glut of confusing fact and opinion to identify your own unique nutritional requirements”. (The Metabolic Typing Diet. The Metabolic Typing® Diet is about building health from within, starting at the cellular level. It balances the body’s unique biochemistry. Whatever nutrient we consume will have either stimulating or inhibitory effect, and/or an acidifying or alkalinizing effect on the body. Too much of one or the other can throw the body out of biochemical balance. Metabolic Typing® helps us identify which foods to eat and which to avoid; it teaches us how to fine tune our ideal nutrient ratios; and how to maintain the ideal balance so that we can live healthier lives. Metabolic Typing® strives to maximize your body’s circulation, hydration, absorption, digestion, detoxification, and elimination processes in order to help your body fulfill its full genetic potential.

The Process

We begin with you, to learn about you. During your complimentary initial consultation, you tell us about your goals, why they are important to you, and your health history. The purpose of this initial meeting is essentially to get to know each other. It’s an opportunity for you to ask us questions. We will explain Metabolic Typing®, the process, our consulting approach, our qualifications and experiences. We want to ensure that there is a good fit, and that we feel comfortable working together.

Once we decide to proceed, you will be provided with the information necessary to complete Healthexel’s Advanced Metabolic Type® Questionnaire. The questions will pertain to physical, psychological and diet related traits. Once your answers are analyzed, we will have your personal Advanced Program Metabolic Type Report to get you started.

With your results in hand, we will get you started on the first step. This first step includes eating the right foods and avoiding the wrong foods. This information will be provided by your recommended diet plan. It will clearly identify your ideal foods and those you should avoid. The other part of the first step, is fine tuning your macronutrient ratios. We will explain to you how you can easily do this by using the Diet Check Record Sheet.

Once you feel comfortable with the first step, we will introduce you to supplementation, how it applies to Metabolic Typing®, when it’s recommended and why it can be beneficial. We will also explore the effects of lifestyle, specifically reducing blocking factors, and identifying other means to enhance your program so that you can maximize its overall benefits.
