We begin with you, to learn from you. During your complimentary initial consultation, you tell us about your goals, why they are important to you, and your health history. We want to know your likes and dislikes, what has worked in the past and what hasn’t. The purpose of this initial meeting is essentially to get to know each other. It’s an opportunity for you to ask us questions. We will tell you about our approach to training, our qualifications and experiences. We want to ensure that there is a good fit, that we feel comfortable working together, and finally, that we have the knowledge, qualifications and experiences necessary to help you.
Once we decide to proceed, we then schedule an initial assessment. The customized assessment will include some or all of the following depending on your needs and goals:
- comparative range of motion & flexibility,
- core function,
- core strength,
- movement screens,
- manual strength tests,
- anthropometric measurements,
- and others.
All the information collected during the initial assessment provides us with the base necessary to create a customized program for you. After the assessment, we review the results together and decide which fitness services would best serve you.
One-on-One Personal Fitness Training – During these one-on-one sessions, your trainer will provide you with the knowledge, guidance, support and motivation you need to reach your health and fitness goals. You will be taught how to do each exercise safely and effectively. Our goal is to ensure that you are comfortable and confident with the exercises, and that you reach your goals quickly, efficiently and safely.
Program Design – A program will be designed for you, which will balance both your needs and your goals. Your trainer will take you through your program explaining and demonstrating each exercise before having you do the exercise yourself, ensuring that you can confidently and safely follow the program on your own.
Group Training – This option is becoming more popular with couples who have similar needs and goals, would like to save time and financially benefit by training together. It can be done between friends also. The same happens as with One-on-One Fitness Training except now you’re part of a pair.
